This panel event will include a presentation of the newly-launched 2013 Aid Transparency Index, an annual ranking of donors on how transparent they are about the aid they give. Panellists will also talk about the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI), an internationally agreed standard for publishing aid information. This will include a discussion on progress with implementing IATI, plans and expectations for the future, and the challenges faced in developing information standards and opening up data. Panellists will include government representatives from both donor and recipient countries, civil society and the UN.

·         Ellen Miller, Executive Director, Sunlight Foundation – facilitator

·         David Hall-Matthews, Managing Director, Publish What You Fund – discussing 2013 Aid Transparency Index findings.

·         John Adams, Head of IT and Innovation, Department for International Development – discussing lessons learned from IATI and presenting the Development Tracker, DFID’s new open data portal.

·         Oluseun Onigbinde, Co-founder and Lead Director, BudgIT – discussing the work of BudgIT and the information you need for advocacy and holding governments to account.

·         Jan Mattsson, Executive Director, UNOPS – discussing their experience with publishing to IATI and their role on the IATI Secretariat, future plans and challenges.
