Articles of Governance approved by the OGP Steering Committee

OGP is pleased to share the final Articles of Governance approved by the OGP Steering Committee this afternoon. These Articles reflect the consensus of the entire Steering Committee and are the result of more than a year of intensive work and discussions by the group. Two provisions of the document were tabled for further refinement before finalizing, and a consensus version of these two provisions will be inserted into the final Articles of Governance within the coming six weeks. These provisions relate to the potential suspension of countries for (1) committing human rights abuses, and (2) receiving three consecutive annual IRM reports reflecting poor/non-performance.
