Commitment

Category: Basics | Back to Glossary

OGP commitments are promises for reform co-created by governments and civil society and submitted as part of an action plan. Commitments typically include a description of the problem, concrete actions that will be taken to address the problem, and individual milestones that will be completed as part of the commitment. OGP’s Independent Reporting Mechanism (IRM) evaluates commitments on several measures, including verifiability, relevance to open government, ambition, completion, and early results.
