Description
Short description Developing a platform for the inclusion and ongoing updating of information about penitentiaries, increasing the digitalization of services and the transparency of information. General objective Increased transparency and knowledge about initiatives and services in penitentiaries and shorter time to respond to requests from detainees. Simplifying and streamlining procedures for inmates to request goods and services to the administration. Current situation At present, inmates submit their daily requests using a written paper form, the so-called “domandine” (form #393), with repercussions in terms of transparency and time needed to handle the request by the administration. Expected results Increase transparency both externally (through the online publication of prisons’ information sheets) and internally (through the digitalization of the so-called “domandine”). This initiative is aimed at increasing the level of awareness thanks to clear and official data about prisons and streamline bureaucracy inside prisons by cutting response time.
