Lysa Jean

Lysa John brings nearly 30 years of experience in the intersection of human rights, international development and social justice. Her career has centred on large‑scale change initiatives rooted in global social justice movements and transnational campaigns for accountable governance.

She has served in several influential leadership roles, including Head of Outreach for the UN High-Level Panel on the Post-2015 Agenda, Global Campaigns Director at Save the Children International, and Secretary-General of CIVICUS. She has also contributed her expertise in an advisory capacity to networks such as the International Budget Partnership, UN Live! and the World Benchmarking Alliance, helping strengthen collective efforts toward justice, equity and accountability.

Lysa has written and spoken extensively about the vital role of civil society and collective action. She draws strength and inspiration from a global network of family, friends, peers, and mentors who share her commitment to purpose, solidarity, and collective responsibility.
