Launching of a website that deals with women’s concerns and interests

Problem

The living reality of women in El Kef varies according to environment in which they are located. So most of them are ignorant of the procedures that must  be followed to access information, whether it is to complain or to seek guidance and accompaniment.

Status quo

Most women in  El Kef suffer from serveral difficulties represented in exclusion, violence marginalization, abuse and exploitation in many areas due to their lack of knowledge of the ways and means of complaining. Women in remote areas also complain of the  the difficulty of obtaining clear and timely information to  conduct  their affairs  and rertore their rights.

Action

Due to  the harsh conditions that women suffer from and the exacerbation of violance againt them, Joussour Almouwatana  Association in partnership with El Kef municipality and with  support of OXFAM Organization, decided to create a website represented in a Digital Electronic Platform. ( http://www.wpwm.tn) women's power  in the municipal power,     directed to  deal with women concerns

How will the commitment contribute to solving the public problem described above?

The electronic platform facilitates women's access to information and follow-up on evrything that concerns , in the search for solution to their problems and the provision for leagal guidance to victims of violence, so they communicate and interact with the profit of effort and time.

What long-term goal as identified in your Open Government Strategy does this commitment relate to?

In the long term this commitment seeks to the goal of achieving  equal oportunities between the sexes, maintain family ties and integrate women into public affairs. By enhancing the principal of equality, society develops and sustainable developement is achieved, depending on modern technologies.

The municipality seeks to develop the project   from an electronic platform to a listening center that includes all the services that women need, and also to develop it to become t a Web Radio.
