Asfia Tareen

Asfia Tareen is the Lead, Strategic Partnerships at the Open Government Partnership, where she develops, manages, and coordinates the OGP Support Unit’s relationships and programming with funding partners, helping to achieve impact for mutual strategic priorities. This includes working cross-functionally across teams for proposal development and project management. She also supports strategy for OGP member country contributions.

In previous roles, Asfia has led program management, grant-making, and research to support democracy and good governance programming, including at World Learning, National Democratic Institute (NDI), and Global Affairs Canada (GAC).

She holds a BA in International Studies from York University in Toronto and an MPA from Carleton University in Ottawa.

She is currently based in Washington D.C.
