Asfia Tareen

Asfia Tareen joined the Open Government Partnership in March 2021. In this role, she works across the OGP Support Unit and externally to build relationships with OGP’s current and prospective donors, including proposal writing, reporting on impact, and managing grant deliverables. She also oversees strategy on country contributions made to OGP and supports outgoing grant making to civil society organizations.

Asfia has over 10 years of experience in program management and development focused on strengthening democracy and governance globally, including previous roles with World Learning, National Democratic Institute, and Global Affairs Canada. She holds a BA in International Studies from York University in Toronto and an MPA from Carleton University in Ottawa.
