Sahara Itzel Calderón Samaniego

Open Government Coordinator, Government of the Municipality of Monterrey

Sahara has been coordinating the open government area of the Municipal Government of Monterrey since January 2022. She oversees the implementation of the Local Open Government Action Plan 2022-2024 from the Secretariat of Innovation and Open Government of Monterrey, as well as the mainstreaming of local open government policies in the municipality.

Sahara holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration, a master’s degree in Social Sciences and Public Policies, and has a specialization in Gender Studies in Education. Since 2014, she has also worked as a consultant on social projects and public policies with a focus on gender and human rights.
