Jo Lomas and Maja Branković

Jo Lomas has been Deputy Head of the Embassy in Sarajevo since June 2011. She is serving as Chargé d’Affaires a.i. following the departure of HMA Nigel Casey and before the appointment of the next Ambassador. The UK works with Bosnia and Herzegovina to encourage and support the country to meet the conditions for EU and NATO membership. As well as the office in Sarajevo, we have a branch office in Banja Luka. Jo came to Sarajevo from London where she headed the FCO’s Global Response Centre, the UK’s 24 hour response unit for political and consular emergencies. She has had previous postings in Geneva and Damascus and has a degree in Political Science from the University of Bristol.

Maja Branković  is  Advocacy Coordinator in Transparency International Bosnia and Herzegovina, with expertise in field of access to information and open governance.  Graduated from the Faculty of Law at University of Sarajevo.  Prior to TI BiH, worked for USAID TARA Project as part of technical assistance in Directorate of Finances in Brčko District. Actively engaged in advocacy activities related to the Open Government Partnership initiative in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in monitoring and analysis of anti-corruption legislation.  Participated at OGP Europe Regional Meeting in Dublin 2014 and OGP Annual Summit in London 2013 as one of the co-organizers and moderator for the session “Emerging Democracies: OGP as a Driver for a Reform”.
