Joining the Steering Committee

The results from previous years can be found in the Archive of Past Results section at the end of this page.

The OGP Support Unit, with oversight from the Governance and Leadership subcommittee, administers the selection process for new Steering Committee members. For the purposes of selecting new members of the Steering Committee, OGP is composed of two constituencies: Government and Civil Society. Separate selection processes are held and members from each constituency have the opportunity to select their own representatives.

Three seats on the OGP Steering Committee (SC) are opening up for the 2026 elections. The Government of Spain is concluding its first term and is eligible for reelection. The Government of Kenya is leaving the SC after serving the maximum of two consecutive terms. The United States withdrew from OGP on January 15, vacating its SC seat. Two of the three seats will be filled at the start of the new SC term on October 1, while the third vacant seat will be filled directly following elections.

Following a thorough selection process, Natalia Carfi (Open Data Charter), Barbara Schreiner (Water Integrity Network), and Maira Martini (Transparency International) have been selected to serve on the OGP Steering Committee on October 1, 2025 for a three year term.
