Since OGP was launched, parliamentary engagement has been an integral part of the open government philosophy and a key element to achieve ambitious open government reforms. After 10 years of learning and through a solid consultation process, the OGP Steering Committee approved the updated Memorandum on Parliamentary Engagement in OGP in late 2021. Following this, the OGP Support Unit has recently developed new guidance materials for stakeholders interested in advancing parliamentary engagement in OGP – in national and local processes, and through standalone OGP parliamentary action plans.
