Commitment Title
Expand and improve the open data sets relating to Asturias available on the central government open data portal (datos.gob.es).
Problem
The issues are:
1. There are data that are not easily accessible to the public as they are not on the open data portal;
2. There are non-standardised data.
Status quo
Since the beginning of this legislature, different datasets have been opened to the public in accordance with Open Data criteria. At present, 1396 datasets from different thematic areas related to the autonomous community are available. Since then, by opening up public data, better use has been made of them, generating economic and social value in their use by third parties. In order to make progress in this achievement, it is necessary to expand the data set and the quality of the data.
Action
This commitment entails:
1. The extension by 25% of the data sets offered so far
2. Standardisation of the characteristics of all datasets to facilitate their visualisation, downloading and usability.
How will the commitment contribute to solving the public problem described above?
Fulfilling this commitment will contribute to the expansion of open data offered to citizens and to the accessibility of information, making published datasets more usable and thus fostering re-use of information.
What long-term goal as identified in your Open Government Strategy does this commitment relate to?
This commitment is directly related to the long-term objective set out in the open government strategy paper on ensuring citizens' access to public information.
