Commitment description

What is the public problem that the commitment will address?
The citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic do not yet perceive
the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic as the
supreme constitutional body performing legislative and
oversight functions. Citizens rather work individually with
each MP to resolve their personal issues. This is due to
a lack of understanding of the role of the Parliament and
insufficiency of the information.

What is the commitment? Currently, several TV and radio channels broadcast live
meetings of the JK KR. OTRK, ElTR and other channels
broadcast “Lessons of Parliamentarism” (information
program on the work of the Parliament and the results of
its work). The communication strategy of the Parliament
was adopted to develop the system of communication
with the population and to inform about its work in
accordance with the approved annual plans.
Within the framework of the “Open Parliament”
implementation plan, it is planned to launch a series of
programs on the functions and tasks of the Parliament
(once a month), as well as short clips about the Jogorku
Kenesh (promotion through TV, radio and social
networks).

How will the commitment contribute to the resolution of the public problem?
It will contribute to the increase of the awareness of the
population about the role of the Jogorku Kenesh of the
Kyrgyz Republic.

Why is this commitment relevant to OGP values?
Openness and accessibility of the MPs, informing the
population.
