Ashim Pandey

Ashim Pandey is the Country Manager of Saferworld Nepal programme, he has joined Saferworld in December 2014. He has more than 8 years of experience in peacebuilding, conflict transformation, conflict sensitivity, community security and empowerment, governance, and project cycle management. Before he joined Saferworld, Ashim spent five years working with German bilateral organization-GIZ as on their ‘Support of Measures to Strengthen the Peace Process in Nepal’ project, which focused on the socio-economic reintegration of Maoist army combatants, with a particular emphasis on involving all conflict-affected community members, ex-combatants, marginalised groups, and youth. He also worked in Indonesia for a year and a half with GTZ supporting a microfinance and economic sector programme in Aceh, in response to the tsunami. Ashim has a Master’s in International and Development Economics from Berlin, Germany.
