[email protected]With over 23 years’ experience of working on justice, gender, human rights and more broadly on people-centered governance at global, regional and national levels, Swati is a strong believer in the value of partnerships to achieve meaningful change.
She joined OGP in May 2025 as the Regional Lead for Asia and Pacific. In this role, she supports an incredible community of reformers across 11 diverse countries to design and deliver ambitious open government reforms that strengthen transparency, accountability, and public participation.Immediately prior to joining OGP, Swati was the Program Director, Justice for All at Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies, Center for International Cooperation at New York University where she worked closely with 21 countries and multiple multilateral and civil society organizations. Before this, she has worked with several Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and other programs in Asia.
She has written, edited, and reviewed several papers on legal empowerment, policing, legal aid, and traditional, customary, and informal justice systems.She is a Senior Fellow at New York University’s Center on International Cooperation. She was also a Chevening Scholar and holds an LLM degree in International Criminal Law, Criminology, and Criminal Justice from King’s College London. She loves to engage with young people, artists, and musicians on justice and governance broadly, and excels at building strong and productive cross-cultural teams.
