Katria Tomko

Project Officer, Hivos

Katria Tomko is a Project Officer for the Open Up Contracting program at Hivos where she assists with the organization and execution of the Local Open Contracting Initiative (LOCI). She is passionate about empowering vulnerable populations and has a comprehensive understanding of the challenges facing societies implementing significant systemic change.

Prior to joining Hivos, she worked on issues related to security and sustainable development at EuroClio, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe – High Commissioner on National Minorities (OSCE HCNM), and the Parliament of Ukraine (Verkhovna Rada) Committee on Foreign Affairs. Katria holds an M.Sc. in International Relations (University of Amsterdam, NL) and a B.A. in Government & Law and Russian & East European Studies (Lafayette College, USA). Her work experience and studies are complemented by nearly a decade of volunteering with civil society organizations that advocate for and work in conjunction with local development initiatives in Ukraine to promote dignity and human rights.
