Joining the Steering Committee

The results from previous years can be found in the Archive of Past Results section at the end of this page.

The OGP Support Unit, with oversight from the Governance and Leadership subcommittee, administers the selection process for new Steering Committee members. For the purposes of selecting new members of the Steering Committee, OGP is composed of two constituencies: Government and Civil Society. Separate selection processes are held and members from each constituency have the opportunity to select their own representatives.

There are three government seats in the OGP Steering Committee up for election in 2025, as current terms of Chile, Germany and Indonesia come to an end. Of these, Chile is eligible to run for a second term. Germany and Indonesia will rotate out of the Steering Committee after serving the maximum two consecutive terms allowed. The deadline to submit candidacy letters is June 7.

The OGP Steering Committee is seeking to fill three Civil Society Steering Committee seats starting on October 1, 2025, as the terms of Natalia Carfi, Eka Gigauri, and Barbara Schreiner come to a close. The deadline to submit applications is June 9, 2025.
