Commitment Title
The City of Mendoza commits to develop the Transparency Plan.
Problem
The general problem that this commitment seeks to solve is corruption in the public sphere and the low credibility of governments among citizens.
Status quo
The current status of the problem has been largely addressed, according to the actions already taken by the Municipality, among which we can mention: New Open Data Portal: migrated to the Andean platform, synchronized Web Gis displays for georeferenced data and updated the datasets, from 30 original to 80 datasets today. Requests for Access to Public Information: To date, 50 AIP requests have been received, with 100% responses in term (15 days maximum); and all resolutions issued are published and accessible on the site for all citizens.
Action
The Transparency Plan of the City of Mendoza is presented as an effective and concrete tool that will not only comply with the requirements established in provincial regulations such as Law No. 8,993 on Public Ethics, Law No. 9,003 on Administrative Procedures and Law No. 9,070, but will also contribute to generate a system of transparency at the municipal level.
How will the commitment contribute to solving the public problem described above?
These measures effectively comply with the highest standards of transparency provided for in national and international norms that recognize the human right to access to public information, as well as implement the guidelines set forth in the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and, in particular, in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16.10, which requires ensuring public access to information and the protection of fundamental freedoms.
