      Commitment Title

Strengthening Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms as a means of access to everyday justice.

      Problem

There is little culture of legality, a lack of knowledge among citizens about ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) and the lack of access and coverage of access to justice for the most vulnerable persons, together with the social idea that conflicts must be resolved in jurisdictional bodies, considering that the social perception of access to justice is a complicated process, long waiting times, bureaucracy and deficient attention.

      Status quo

The lack of culture and contextualisation within society in general, regarding the concept, importance, impact, benefits and scope of ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution), thus closing the gap that holds back the depressurisation of jurisdictional matters.

      Action

Facilitate access to procedures and services, bringing justice closer to the most remote places so that people can find their own solutions to their problems through ADR.
To have professional staff trained in social peace, mediation, conciliation and restorative justice, at municipal and local level, providing a quality and warm service.
Strengthen the dissemination of ADR. These mechanisms should be carried out in everyday, understandable and accessible language, which generates citizen confidence as they feel the approach of the institutions.

How will the commitment contribute to solving the public problem described above?

To inform and raise awareness among the population about the nature and benefits of ADR, the aim of which is to resolve everyday problems quickly, safely and at no cost, with the aim of restoring personal relationships and social peace.

What long-term goal as identified in your Open Government Strategy does this commitment relate to?

Strengthening the resolution of everyday conflicts through the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms.
