Description

Crowdsourcing is becoming a popular way to collaborate on projects. This portal will enable volunteers (general public) to submit information on protected areas and conservation areas to the department, and by so doing that will enable the department to improve its data on the conservation estate. The portal will go live early 2014. High level outcomes are: Improved public access to information on the conservation estate in South Africa; Improved quality of data on the conservation estate in South Africa; and citizen participation.
