Local Roundup | November 2022

Here’s our monthly roundup of updates from the OGP Local community for November 2022.

CO-CREATION ACTION PLAN
  • Georgian municipalities engaged in the co-creation of their OGP action plans
  • Beni Mellal-Khenifra, Morocco developed a guide where they explain their experience joining OGP Local and cocreating their first action plan. They also held a meeting with the advisory bodies of the regional council as part of the development of the open regional development program 2022-2027, an opportunity to enrich the RDP Project with proposals from civil society.
  • Rustavi Innovation Hub and Rustavi Municipality City Hall, Georgia held consultation meetings with civil society organizations to co-create Rustavi’s OGP Local action plan.
  • Mexico City held co-creation roundtables on digital government and access to public services and participation and access to information.
  • The Mayor’s Office of Cartagena de Indias is calling on citizens to choose the open government initiatives that the District will implement in 2023.
  • Maipú, Chile, carried out the second forum of the “Maipucinos Commitments 2023: The community decides”.
ACTIVITIES & EVENTS
  • The OGP Africa and the Middle East Regional Meeting took place in Marrakech, Morocco. 500 participants, 36 sessions, 121 speakers, 50+ countries represented, 12 local governments, 24 local representatives interviewed on video. Share the the photos of the event!
  • At the 2022 C40 Summit, four local governments signed the Declaration of Buenos Aires to promote environmental action from the perspective of open government.
  • Córdoba, Argentina, and São Paulo, Brazil, held the first session of the OGP Local Circle on the 2030 Agenda and SDGs. Register for the second session on December 14 here!
  • OGP Local participated in the Basque Country Open Forum where OGP Euskadi shared the progress of their open government agenda and presented the 2022 Euskadi Open Data Awards.
  • Tlajomulco, Mexico, signed an open municipality declaration with Jalisco, Mexico. Access the full broadcast and find out how transparency and accountability will continue to be promoted in the municipality.
  • Kaduna State, Nigeria, outlined their open government ecosystem and organized a public hearing for the proposed 2023 annual budget.
  • Körber-Stiftung and Code for Hamburg hosted the Forum Offene Stadt (Open City Forum), a conference  to discuss digital and innovative solutions through open government approaches, including  workshop on their experience with OGP Local.
  • #300añosmvd Montevideo calls on its citizens to contribute ideas for projects in view of  the city’s 300th anniversary.
  • 330 projects on participatory budget were validated in Chihuahua, Mexico.
