Alex Howard

Alexander B. Howard is a writer, digital governance expert, and open government advocate based in Washington, DC. He is the director of the Digital Democracy Project at the Demand Progress Educational Fund, a nonprofit focused on improving democratic governance, and the co-director of the Advisory Committee on Transparency. He is a member of the U.S. Freedom of Information Act Advisory Committee at the U.S. National Archives. Previously, he was the deputy director of the Sunlight Foundation, the first senior editor for technology and society at the Huffington Post, and held fellowships on networked transparency and data journalism at Harvard and Columbia University.
