Liia Hänni

Liia Hänni is a physicist by education and holds a Ph.D. degree. She spent 20 years working in the field of science, conducting research in astrophysics. In the early 1990s, during the revolutionary events in Estonia, Liia became actively engaged in politics. She served as a Member of Parliament and Cabinet Minister, with responsibilities encompassing property reform. Concluding her political career in 2003, Liia embarked on a journey with the NGO e-Governance Academy, advocating for the utilization of ICT for democratic governance and the empowerment of citizens. She is the founder of the civil society OGP Roundtable in Estonia and a member of the OGP Coordination Council, a collaborative platform that involves a diverse range of partners from the public sector and civil society.
