Maurice Thantan

Maurice Thantan holds a BA in Labour Administration from the National School of Administration of Benin, Maurice Thantan is a journalist at the beninese national broadcasting service.

Blogger since 2013, Maurice Thantan has launched and directed the Bloggers Association of Benin, a community of over a hundred Beninese bloggers since 2015.

With this association, he led the Benin Vote 2016 project, a citizen watch initiative via social networks during the March 2016 presidential election in Benin. Very active in the promotion of open data, he is currently coordinating the “Benin Open Data Initiative”, a project that aims to promote the opening of public data and thus accompany the integration of Benin into the Partnership for Open Government (OGP). 

For his first participation in an OGP Summit, Maurice was very active at the Paris summit (#OGP16), animating several communications, pitches, interviews and round tables.”
