Lara Schmitt Caccia

Lara is an Urban Development Specialist at WRI Brasil. She has been working in the follow-up and training for the elaboration of Master, Metropolitan and Mobility Plans, as well as projects related to active mobility, governance, social housing, energy efficiency and air quality. She also works with research and development of knowledge products on topics related to her area of expertise. She holds a master’s degree in Geography from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), with an emphasis on urban geography and territorial analysis. In her master’s degree, she developed the dissertation “Urban Mobility: Public Policies and Space Appropriation in Brazilian Cities”, which deals with the relationship between transport policies and urban space appropriations. She graduated in Geography, also from UFRGS, where she developed research on urban space production, social segregation and socio-spatial impact analysis.
