Action Plan

Category: Basics | Back to Glossary

Action plans are at the core of a government’s participation in OGP. They are the product of a co-creation process in which government and civil society jointly develop commitments to open government reforms. National action plans are typically implemented over two or four-year periods, while the implementation period of local action plans varies by member. Successful OGP action plans focus on significant domestic open government priorities and ambitious reforms; are relevant to the values of transparency, accountability, and public participation; and contain specific, time-bound, and verifiable commitments.
