Description

Status quo/Problem addressed: Bulgaria is making significant progress in the active release of public information in open format. At this stage however this progress does not run parallel to considerable increases in usage mostly due to the fact that open data is a new concept which the users are not familiar with, that they lack the necessary data processing skills and are not aware of the benefits of open data analysis. Main objective: To promote the use of open data in policy-making, service and product development and exerting control over the public institutions. Ambition: Derive real economic and social benefits from open data. Deliverables and impact: Sustained interest in the data published on the portal; new products and services developed; creation of an ecosystem of users. (Administration of the Council of Ministers. 1 July 2016 – 30 June 2017)
