Giorgi Kldiashvili

Giorgi Kldiashvili is a founding member and an Executive Director of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), an NGO based in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Giorgi Kldiashvili has more than 15 years’ experience of working on openness and anti-corruption policies in Georgia and internationally. His expertise covers policy areas such as access to information, Fighting corruption, anti-money laundering and terrorism financing, government accountability and transparency, public procurement and beneficial ownership transparency, civil service and public administration, open data, media and internet. Giorgi is an author of a number of publications and he has been consulting international organizations, CSOs and government entities globally.

In addition to his work in applied policy research with IDFI, as a historian by specialty, he has academic credentials as a researcher, undertaking studies in American and Soviet Studies. He is a professional archive researcher.

Since 2022 Giorgi Kldiashvili is engaged as an Expert with the EU Global Facility Project on Anti- Money Laundering and Countering the Terrorist Financing (AML/CFT). He works on compliance with FATF Recommendation 8 – capacity building for the Authorities/Regulators and CSOs.

Giorgi Kldiashvili was a CSO Steering Committee Member of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) in 2017-2020. As a CSO Steering Committee Member of OGP, Giorgi was a Member of working groups, he was engaged in policy planning of OGP with CSO and government representatives, he worked with CSO representatives to advocate for OGP commitments related to public procurement, anti-corruption policy, freedom of information, beneficial ownership transparency, public engagement, public service delivery. Giorgi Kldiashvili represented OGP at international events.
