Blake Harwood

Blake Harwood currently works as the program assistant for the Governance and MENA programs at the National Democratic Institute. In this capacity, Blake manages civic technology programming, including the Institute’s MOOC in partnership with Stanford on technology for accountability as well as a virtual exchange program between MENA and US students. She also works with NDI’s MENA regional team to implement skills building workshops on effective campaign management, and to create materials regarding democratic governance for NDI’s Arabic e-learning platform, Taalem Sharek. Previously, Blake worked as the marketing coordinator for the Global Interdependence Center in Philadelphia where she oversaw communications for international events. Blake is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and holds her degree in International Relations and Modern Middle Eastern Studies. She has lived in Egypt, Ghana, Morocco and Tunisia and speaks Arabic and Spanish.
