Garantizando las acciones estratégicas que favorezcan el uso adecuado y la
conservación de los recursos naturales, las áreas protegidas, la diversidad
biológica de Guatemala y la gestión de riesgo a desastres, fortaleciendo las
capacidades de la población guatemalteca a nivel local, municipal y
departamental.

Su finalidad es sensibilizar e involucrar a la población guatemalteca en la
conservación y uso sostenible de la diversidad biológica, las áreas protegidas
de Guatemala, así como la gestión de riesgo a desastres, para mejorar la
calidad de vida de la población guatemalteca con acciones transparentes.

Adicional
La importancia de formar ciudadanos con valores para el fortalecimiento de la
conservación y uso racional de los recursos naturales, la diversidad biológica,
así como la gestión de riesgo a desastres los cuales se puedan replicar en su
entorno social, en las buenas prácticas y conocimientos aprendidos. Este
compromiso se vincula al ODS 13, Mejorar la educación, la sensibilización y la
capacidad humana e institucional en relación con la mitigación del cambio
climático, la adaptación a él, la reducción de sus efectos y la alerta temprana.
Indicador 13.3.2 número de países que han comunicado una mayor creación
de capacidad institucional, sistemática e individual para aplicar la adaptación,
la mitigación y la transferencia de tecnología y las medidas de desarrollo.
