Emilie Lemieux

Deputy Director, Open Parliament and Sustainable Development at ParlAmericas

Emilie Lemieux is responsible for ParlAmericas’ Open Parliament and Sustainable Development programming, which supports parliaments from the Americas and the Caribbean dedicated to increasing transparency and access to information, accountability, public participation and ethical standards in their institutions, as well as advancing climate action and implementing the 2030 Agenda. Through these programs ParlAmericas develops parliamentary tools and resources, delivers workshops, study visits and offers various opportunities for peer exchanges.

Emilie has over ten years of experience in parliamentary strengthening, supporting parliaments and parliamentarians across the world in their work to reinforce democratic principles and contribute to sustainable development efforts. Prior to joining ParlAmericas, Emilie worked with the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC), developing and implementing programs to strengthen governance, combat corruption, and improve transparency and accountability by collaborating with and in support of dedicated parliamentarians to strengthen their countries’ institutions. She has also held program support positions in various departments within the Government of Canada. Emilie received a Bachelor’s in International Studies and Modern Languages from the University of Ottawa, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Carleton University.
