problemática que el
compromiso aborda?
Baja resiliencia de los paisajes productivos y los sistemas
socioeconómicos, así como la inseguridad alimentaria en los municipios
priorizados, amenazados por los impactos del cambio climático en el
corredor seco, y baja eficacia en los procesos de gestión ambiental
orientados al ciudadano para hacer eficiente el análisis, dictamen y
entrega de instrumentos ambientales
¿Cuál es el
compromiso?
Busca coadyuvar a la implementación de la Ley Marco para Regular la
Reducción de la Vulnerabilidad, La Adaptación Obligatoria ante los
Efectos del Cambio Climático y la Mitigación de Gases de Efecto
Invernadero (Decreto 7-2013), Política Nacional de Cambio Climático,
y el Plan de Acción Nacional de Cambio Climático, a través de la
adopción de prácticas de prevención de riesgo, reducción de la
vulnerabilidad y mejora de la adaptación al Cambio Climático, a la vez
que contribuye a la mejora de la calidad de vida de la población
y al establecimiento de mecanismos financieros que apoyen la
perdurabilidad de dicha Ley, Política y Plan en el mediano plazo. De esta
manera se pretende contribuir a que las comunidades seleccionadas
realicen prácticas, ambiental y culturalmente adecuadas para el uso y
conservación de los bienes y servicios naturales, a fin que les permita
reducir su vulnerabilidad y mejoramiento de su adaptación al Cambio
Climático, con énfasis en la seguridad alimentaria
¿Cómo contribuirá a
resolver la
problemática?
Aumentar la resiliencia climática de las familias en las comunidades
ubicadas en el corredor seco de los Departamentos de Zacapa y
Chiquimula (11 municipios), con prácticas sostenibles orientadas hacia
la conservación/recuperación del capital natural, realizadas bajo un
enfoque territorial que permita alcanzar los más altos resultados en el
menor tiempo posible.
¿Por qué es relevante
a los valores de
OGP?
El Modelo de Adaptación Climática -MAC- , como mecanismo de
prestación de servicios y transparencia del MARN en función de la
adaptación y mitigación al cambio climático propone aportar al bien
común a través del desarrollo de modelos de cambio climático que
predicen que los daños serán sentidos más gravemente por
comunidades vulnerables de áreas priorizadas, con rendición de cuentas
y participación ciudadana.
