Contribute to the OGP Global Summit Program

The 2023 Open Government Partnership (OGP) Global Summit is just four months away! Here are four exciting and important updates you should know before then:

1. The draft Summit program is published

The OGP Summit is a space for the community to come together – crossing boundaries of issues, sectors and regions – to share and debate ideas. This Summit will also be a particularly important moment to take forward OGP’s 2023-28 strategy. With this in mind, we have been hard at work on an agenda design process for this Summit that both responds to the OGP strategy and addresses issues that are relevant and important to the whole OGP community.

We welcome your feedback on the proposed content – including commenting on the sessions, identifying essential topics that are missing, and/or suggesting examples, contributors and speakers to feature – before May 19, 2023.

We are excited to share the preliminary program for the OGP Estonia Global Summit with you! This draft program focuses on the thematic breakout sessions, covering the Summit and strategy themes of anti-corruption, civic space and participation, climate and environment, digital governance, open justice, and democratic resilience. The sessions are the result of work by the Summit’s Community Content Leads and Advisory Board, who were selected to ensure members from across the OGP community were at the heart of this agenda-building process.

2. We need your input to the program by May 19!

We welcome your feedback on the proposed content – including commenting on the sessions, identifying essential topics that are missing, and/or suggesting examples, contributors and speakers to feature – before May 19, 2023. The Summit Organizing Team and Advisory Board will then review the feedback provided to refine the program, including identifying additional session topics, session organizers, and speakers.

As well as these thematic breakouts, the final Summit program will also feature plenary sessions; opportunities for networking, sharing projects and work in progress; training; and sessions to advance the strategy, as well as side events during the week. Further details on these elements and opportunities to shape them will be shared closer to the Summit.

3. Registration for the Summit is open until May 28, 2023

We invite representatives of governments, civil society leaders, and policy-makers from around the world, to join us in Tallinn to exchange experiences, best practices, and progress on open government initiatives and implementation on key issues. Travel and visa information are also available on the Summit website. Register for the Summit here.

4. Applications for OGP Awards are open until May 13, 2023

To recognize and reward reformers at the forefront of advancing open government, OGP will recognize “Inspirational Reforms” during the Summit. All OGP countries and local members are encouraged to apply. The Summit Advisory Board will recognize one country and one local winner for each of the four OGP regions – Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Americas and Asia-Pacific. Award winners will be given recognition at and a travel scholarship to participate in the Summit.

Co-hosted by the OGP co-chairs, the Government of Estonia and Anabel Cruz, this Summit will bring together our diverse global community in person for the first time since 2019 to exchange experiences, good practice, and progress on open government issues, spotlight reform leaders and champions, and importantly to contribute to advancing the new OGP strategy for 2023-2028

We hope you can join us in Tallinn!
