Johanna zum Felde

Johanna zum Felde works as project manager for the Open Knowledge Foundation Germany, a nonprofit organisation that advocates open knowledge, open data, transparency and civil participation in Germany. She coordinates the German OGP working group, an open association of civil society organisations, researchers and interested individuals with currently 14 member organisations and 4 individuals working towards an active involvement of Germany in the Open Government Partnership (OGP). She also organises a data summit taking place in Germany in April 2017 and has been working on research projects around sustainable development data and fiscal transparency. She first came in contact with the concepts of Open Government and Open Data in 2011 during her masters thesis with a focus on transparency in development cooperation and has gained insights about public information and participation working with civil society organisations, government and an international organisation i.e. at Oxfam Hong Kong, the German equivalent to the campaign ‘Make Poverty History’, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the World Bank in Washington, D.C.
