2021 OGP Impact Awards: Panama – Hotline 311

Using the 311 complaints hotline, the government can respond to the needs of citizens in an easy, fast, and confidential way to address cases of corruption in public services throughout Panamá. The authorities subsequently used the information to develop corrective measures and have seen the numbers of resolved cases rise dramatically. In 2018, citizens submitted more than one million cases via phone calls, mobile app submissions and other convenient methods, and the government responded and resolved 90% of them.
